Let's talk about a true San Francisco institution: the SF Eagle! 🦅⛓️

❗️Founded in 1981 by Bob Damron and Jay Levine at 12th and Harrison, the SF Eagle opened its doors right on the precipice of the AIDS crisis. It quickly became much more than a leather bar—it functioned as a de facto community center and a vital lifeline.

🍺 Over the decades, the Eagle's legendary Sunday B**r Busts and "Bare Chest Calendar" events on the patio have raised millions of dollars for AIDS charities and local LGBTQ+ causes.

🏠 It also became the historic home base for countless gay motorcycle clubs—like the California Motor Club, the Satyrs, and the Warlocks.Its massive cultural impact is why the city officially designated the SF Eagle as San Francisco Landmark No. 295, making it the city's very first landmark dedicated to q***r leather and kink culture!

We want to look back at 40+ years of SoMa history. Whether you remember it as the Eagle Tavern or the SF Eagle:
