The iconic, genderq***r East German rock singer whose search for origin and self-love drives this legendary cult-classic rock musical, opened off-Broadway in 1998, London in 2000, and then Broadway in 2014. Our love for famous gay characters on Broadway continues. Let’s see how well you know Georges and Albin from La Cage aux Folles. This Tony Award-winning musical comedy first hit Broadway in 1983 and is about a gay couple who own a drag nightclub in Saint-Tropez, France. They must pretend to be a “normal” family to impress the conservative parents of their son’s fiancée. This beautiful story later became the inspiration for the 1996 movie, The Birdcage. Which famous actor/writer wrote the book? What’s the name of the iconic song that became an LGBTQ+ anthem after being covered by Gloria Gaynor?

The dazzling headliner drag queen whose unexpected friendship with a struggling shoe factory owner anchors this Tony-winning musical about self-acceptance and inclusivity. Originally created by Billy Porter for a spectacular debut in 2013, Lola helps Charlie Price save his shoe factory by designing durable, high-heeled boots for drag queens. What is “Lola” short for?
