Big Ben is pet of the Week at Rancho Coastal Humane Society. He's a 5-year-old, 13-pound, male, Domestic Short Hair - Lynx Point cat.
Big Ben was lost when a good Samaritan picked him up and took him to a local shelter. When nobody came to claim him, he was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through FOCAS (Friends of County Animal Shelters.)
In his new home, Big Ben will need a cozy space where he can feel safe as he adjusts to his new home and his new life. He will need access to all living essentials and places where he can hide, such as cat shelves, cat trees, covered beds, or carboard boxes. He's going to need some time to acclimate to his new home.The $100 adoption fee for Big Ben includes medical exam, neuter, up to date vaccinations, and registered microchip.

Quokka is Pet of the Week at Rancho Coastal Humane Society. She's a 2-year-old, 51-pound, female, Husky mix.
Quokka was lost. An animal lover took her to a crowded shelter. When nobody claimed her, she was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through Friends of County Animal Shelters - FOCAS.
Quokka will nudge your hand to remind you that it's time to pet her. If you let her, she will give kisses. She likes other dogs, but she's not interested in dog toys.
She might be okay with kids as long as they're old enough to be around a 51-pound, enthusiastic dog. She could probably live in an apartment.

Sedra and nine other cats were surrendered to a shelter when their owner got sick and was no longer able to care for them. She was transferred Fallon to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through FOCAS (Friends of County Animal Shelters.)
She's a calm and thoughtful girl with a gentle, understated charm. She can be shy when meeting new people, but given time and a peaceful space, her sweet personality slowly shines through. With patience and a quiet home, Seadra will settle in beautifully and form a meaningful bond with her person.

Chupacabra is Pet of the Week at Rancho Coastal Humane Society. He's a 1-year-old, 67-pound, male, Shepherd mix.
Chupacabra was at a crowded shelter, then he was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through Friends of County Animal Shelters - FOCAS.
He's friendly and playful. In his kennel, he gets excited, then he woofs for attention. While he's fully grown physically, he's still a puppy who will need plenty of patience as you begin your lives together in his forever home.
He wants constant attention. Chupacabra leans in and melts for love. He's not interested in toys. Just people.

Fallon is pet of the week at Rancho Coastal Humane Society. She's an 8-month-old, 6-pound, female, Domestic Short Hair cat with a Brown Tabby coat.
Fallon was at a crowded shelter. When they needed to create space for the new cats who were arriving daily, they transferred Fallon to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through FOCAS (Friends of County Animal Shelters.)
She loves human attention. Whenever people approach her, Fallon walks up to them right away to remind them to pet her. She shows how much she enjoys it by purring loudly. This is a very sweet cat. Her new family needs to know that she can be nervous when there are sudden movement and unexpected noises.

Tipperary is Pet of the Week at Rancho Coastal Humane Society. She's a 5-year-old, 65-pound, female, Shepherd mix.
Tipperary was lost when a good Samaritan picked her up and took her to a shelter. Her owner didn't come to reclaim her, and that crowded shelter needed space. Tipperary was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through Friends of County Animal Shelters (FOCAS).
She's a low-to-medium energy dog who enjoys napping, sunbathing, cuddling, and playing in water. She spent some time in foster care with a trained volunteer. Her foster said that Tipperary is house trained, likes dog treats, and enjoys chasing lizards.

Rockbelle is pet of the week at Rancho Coastal Humane Society. She's a 2-year-old, 11-pound, female, Domestic Short Hair cat with a Red and White Tabby coat.
Rockbelle lived with several other cats. Her owner had more cats than he could care for, so he surrendered Rockbelle and another cat to a crowded shelter.
That shelter needed space for new arrivals. Rockbelle was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through FOCAS (Friends of Couty Animal Shelters.)
Rockbelle loves other cats. She loves attention and she loves everyone she meets. This includes children, as long as they are respectful of her and her personal space. In her new home, she will need a safe space where she can feel comfortable while she adjusts to her new life.

Angel is pet of the week at Rancho Coastal Humane Society. She's a 1-1/2-year-old, 7-pound, female, Domestic Short Hair cat with a Calico coat.
Angel lived with her owner and four other cats. When the owner moved and couldn't take all five cats, Angel and two of the other cats were surrendered to Rancho Coastal Humane Society.
She's confused about what happened to her. Her adopters should understand that she needs a safe spot while she builds her comfort level. This could be as easy as a small, contained room, with very little foot traffic.
As Angel builds confidence, she will venture out and investigate her new home. Start with living essentials like cat shelves, cat trees, covered beds, or carboard boxes.

She’s a playful dog who walks well on leash. She stands on her hind legs so she can hug. Nessie is not interested in treats. She just wants you to pet her.
She likes kids and other dogs. Nessie might be okay living in an apartment.
