Imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels (Willett, Buffalo Trace, Weller, and Heaven Hill) for 48 to 50 months and conditioned on coconut and (Ivory Coast) cacao nibs THEN conditioned on BUNCHES of bananas. Bottled late 2025 in hand-waxed 500ml bottles. 15.5% ABV

We stopped into Mt Baldy Brewery on our way up the mountain to check it out. Not expecting a stout because there was no mention of a stout on their website. We were pleasantly surprised to see a Barrel-aged Imperial Stout on the menu. It was really good. We would have bought a bottle if they had them.
We also tried the Wee Heavy and it was pretty good too.
Now what exactly these two beers were called, we are not quite sure, as their posted menu doesn’t exactly tell you the name. But what we think we had was:

🍺 Black Label - Barrel-aged Badlands stout

🍺 Red Label - Barrel-aged Wee Heavy

We also stopped into Claremont Craft Ales and had the Oxford stout.

We tried to go to The Stout House but apparently they don’t open until 4pm on Fridays. We’ll have to try to get back there sometime.
