As a teen in the 80s, Ray Cappo founded the hardcore punk band Youth of Today, which championed the principles of clean living, vegetarianism, and self-control. After experiencing a spiritual awakening in India, he formed a new band, Shelter, devoted to spreading a message of hope through spiritual connection. Ray currently leads yoga retreats, trainings, and kirtans at his Supersoul Farm retreat center in Upstate New York, as well as annual pilgrimages to India. He is the co-founder and co-host of Wisdom of the Sages, a daily yoga podcast that has been ranked #1 on Apple for podcasts about spirituality.

We're so delighted and grateful to have as our guest speaker for next week's Krishna Lounge! Raghunath will be sharing about his latest book and leading kirtan this night. Please all join us for this rare and wonderful occasion.

Spiritual life begins when one ponders life's deepest questions. The purpose of satsang is to engage in activities that bring us closer to sat (truth).

On March 16th, we'll be traversing the forests of Julian, hiking our way through Green Valley Falls and visiting Kali's Garden for kirtan meditation and dinner.

We're so grateful to have host and sponsor the hike and dinner!

Mokṣa means liberation from material bo***ge.

In human society, for at least peaceful living, the human society must have dharma. And artha means economic development, good condition, economics. That is also required. One, that the human society should be religious, they must have nice economic organization, and the kāma, they must have also nice arrangement for sense gratification. So sense gratification is not denied. Dharma, artha, kāma, and mokṣa. And after that, when one is satisfied, when he, when one is, by religious procedure, he is satisfied in his economic development, in his satisfaction of senses, the next need is mokṣa. Mokṣa means liberation from material bo***ge. These are four arthas. Catur-vargaḥ puruṣārthaḥ. Puruṣārtha means the interest of the living entity.

The Krishna Lounge will be having an evening trip to Los Angeles to partake in the concert of Jahnavi Harrison.

Jahnavi presents an unforgettable evening of mantra music, song, meditation and poetry; a path into the forest of the heart.

Inviting you on a journey within, as we explore the power and magic of singing together! Joined by a group of beautiful artists, the evening will feature both new music and beloved favourites.

Jahnavi offers an experience of deep connection through sacred song and mantra. The music offers a reconnection to the sacred space within us all — where beauty resides and every step is a dance with the divine.

Bio : Radhanath Swami is a guide, community builder, activist and an acclaimed author. He has been a Bhakti Yoga practitioner and a spiritual teacher for more than 40 years. He is the inspiration behind ISKCON’s free midday meal for 1.2 million school kids across India and he has been instrumental in founding the Bhaktivedanta Hospital in Mumbai. He works largely from Mumbai in India, and travels extensively throughout Europe and America to share the ancient teachings of yoga.

In sanskrit, saṃsāra is the cycle of life and death in the material world. Depending on a soul's karma, one may take birth in the celestial realms, lower planets or again on this earthly plane. Whether we are subject to experiencing heavenly pleasures, unimaginable torment, or neutral happiness, the spiritual soul is destined for a much greater reality.

A spiritual soul's journey in the material world culminates in transcending it all together, to attain muktī (liberation) in the spiritual world. One returns back to his eternal, blissful consciousness, full of wisdom (sat-cit-ānanda) and its ever-fulfilling relationship with God, Srī Kṛṣṇa.

In sanskrit, "divyā" means divine, celestial, transcendental and the word "jñāna" means knowledge. Together divyā jñāna means transcendental knowledge, specifically that knowledge that brings us closer to the absolute truth, closer to divinity, helping us progress on the path of self realization.

Such knowledge is read, studied, taught and within the conversations of yogis, sages and the devotees.

Krishna says in the Bhagavad Gita 10.14

mac-cittā mad-gata-prāṇā
bodhayantaḥ parasparam
kathayantaś ca māṁ nityaṁ
tuṣyanti ca ramanti ca

"The thoughts of My pure devotees dwell in Me, their lives are fully devoted to My service, and they derive great satisfaction and bliss from always enlightening one another and conversing about Me."
