Come party with us as we celebrate the soft launch of Serpentine Cider at The Tavern at Barley & Sword on May 15 from 5-10pm!

We will have several of the most beloved flavors of Serpentine Cider available to be enjoyed throughout the night, from Apple Pie and Guava, to Dragonfruit Vanilla and Blueberry Lemon, and MORE! Enjoy great conversations with Serpentine Cider founder and cidermaker Sean and Barley & Sword founder and brewer Mike!

There will also be delicious food from Bravo Italian Food and amazing music from Nigel Cook Band.

We are trying to find a new home for the amazing wood-burned mural that’s been hanging in our Miramar tasting room since day 1. It’s been in the background of many of our moments, and we love it deeply. Unfortunately, our house is too small to keep it, so we are hoping someone special will buy it! We’ve taken the holidays away from Serpentine Cider for the first time in 8 years! It’s been wonderful to relax, recharge and get some perspective and new ideas! We’re still working hard producing cider for bars and restaurants around San Diego County, so if you see us on tap, grab a glass to support! We are doing our last public crowler pickup today from noon-5pm. We have a VERY limited number of crowlers left, so get there early. Once they are gone, they are gone. We will also be doing growler fills, so bring your own from home for us to fill! This will most likely be the last pickup event for the rest of the month, and we don’t know what 2026 will bring. If you would like to place a pre-order, message me before 11am and we will fill them ahead of time. Otherwise it is first come first serve. Thanks for your support!!!!

Feeling nostalgic today, this was five years ago in the middle of the pandemic. I remember us taking a break from filling to-go crowlers and sitting on the bar for a quick pick me up, so proud of how Sean pivoted to keep Serpentine alive and running. Five years later, here we are filling to-go crowlers again! Closing our tasting room is not a failure, it’s a new chapter. For those of you who have been riding along with us these past 8 years, thank you! I hope to see some of you tonight at crowler pickups from 5-8, or this Sunday from noon-5 (Sean will be at this one). We have two crowler pick up dates coming up this week:

Another update! We will have two pickup windows available for you to come and get crowlers of cider from our Miramar tasting room!

*Wednesday, December 3 from 5-8pm
*Sunday, December 7 from noon-5pm

Since this might be the last time we are doing public pick up of our cider at our tasting room for awhile, feel free to bring those growlers from home for us to fill up too! We will also have any extra merch available for sale. Viper members, this will be your chance to pick up any remaining crowlers, and your memberships have been cancelled so you won’t be charged after November.

We still plan on doing distribution around San Diego so we hope you can find us in many local bars and restaurants. We will definitely keep you updated as this new part of the Serpentine Cider journey unfolds! Thank you all for your continued support. We love you all!

A few updates:

1. We will be scheduling a day for everyone to come pick up crowlers at the tasting room, most likely after the week of Thanksgiving. This will also be the time to purchase any remaining merch that we have left!
2. While our tasting room is now closed, our distribution is still running so you can still find Serpentine Cider around town at various stores and restaurants (Whistle Stop, North Park Beer Co, Regents Pizzaria, O’Brien’s Pub and Pizza Port IB to name a few).
3. Thank you to everyone who has reached out and offered to help. There was literally nothing anyone could have done. This year was an amazing year for us and we have had the most support we have ever had and it was still not enough to keep our doors open. The tasting room model has not worked for us since the pandemic, so we are excited to figure out what Serpentine Cider as a brand and company will look like in the future.

We are hosting a food drive for Feeding San Diego! We want to make a difference for our neighbors facing hunger. We have two collection boxes at our tasting room.

Here is a list of the most needed food items:

* Peanut butter
* Ready-to-eat meals like canned soups, ravioli and chili
* Canned proteins like tuna, salmon, or chicken
* Kitchen essentials like cooking oil and spices

FSD prefer plastic containers and pop top cans. If you are facing food insecurity, feel free to take from the boxes if you are visiting our tasting room. We will drop the boxes off at Feeding San Diego once they are full. You can also do a virtual food drive from the comfort of your own home or make a monetary donation to Feeding San Diego instead. All food donations go directly to San Diegans facing hunger throughout the county 💖
