A few months after Roundabout opened in 2024, my brother was diagnosed with cancer.
For three months, he was hospitalized. There was so much uncertainty. There were bad days, and there were some good days. Through all of it, the one thing he hoped for was simply more time.
During his hospitalization, he frequently needed blood transfusions. Those transfusions gave him strength when his body had very little left to give. More importantly, they gave our family the gift of more time with him.
Sadly, the fight became too much, and we lost my brother, John, in February 2025.
While he was in the hospital, we were able to give back by hosting blood drives for South Texas Blood & Tissue at our other location, The Point Park | Craft B**r & Food Truck | SATX. Now, it means so much to us to bring that opportunity to Beacon Hill and host a blood drive here at Roundabout.
This Sunday, we’re donating in honor of John Vargas and we would be incredibly grateful if you would consider donating too.
Someone we will never know donated the blood that gave us more time with John. Maybe this Sunday, we can give that gift to another family. ❤️
