Our wine shop and wine store has been in the making for 20 years. After 20 years we have decided to ditch the corporate world and follow our dreams. We are a husband and wife team. We have been together since we were 19, marrying one another at age 34. We met in 1991 at a random keg party on the beach in San Diego, CA where we lived until 2008. We first thought up the idea of a gourmet market back
in 2005 when we were first married. At the time we worked multiple jobs, some in the restaurant industry and some in the corporate world. After the financial crash in 2008, we knew we needed to move out of California and ended up with steady corporate jobs in San Antonio. We fell in love with this city and its people and began to revisit our original idea of opening our own business. As it goes, people change as they get older. We have traveled the world, our passions have matured and our original idea of a gourmet market morphed into a wine bar. We have had so many wonderful memories in the vineyards of the world and wanted to bring that feeling to San Antonio. Nectar is our baby (aside from our two dogs and four chickens). We hope to bring you the same experience and good conversation we have found over the years. We simply love to have fun and would like to invite you to the party at Nectar Wine Bar and Ale House.
