We began this new bar concept in a Historic building minutes away from St. Paul's Square and a stones thrown from downtown San Antonio. What started out as a private residence was then sold in the 1940's to become boarding for students of the St. Peter Claver Academy which was founded by Margaret Mary Healy-Murphy, the namesake of the Healy-Murphy Historic District in which the bar is located. In

an effort to pay homage to the history of the building the owners decided on a back to school theme with an adult twist. The 4,000 square foot building boasts Instagram worthy selfie spots featuring up cycled elements from old educational institutions and parking for several food trucks to include two of San Antonio's well known eateries Charlie Brown's and Pacific Moon with other rotating offerings. Home room is a fun and fresh new concept where it's recess all the time where we invoke the carefree sense of the fun we all used to have at school with the benefits of being a full fledged adult. The cocktail menu will feature fun school themed additions such as "juice boxes" filled with more than just juice, a wide variety of local beers and for fun S'mores kits will be available during winter months for use at one of the many fire pits through out the property. Our guests can also enjoy a mixture of frozen coffees and classic mixed cocktails served from the Bus Bar, which is a mobile libation station built out of a repurposed school bus. Entertainment options will also include but not be limited to Live Music, DJ's, sports viewing, as well as a multitude of classic yard games such as corn hole, Jenga, hopscotch, and even feature a swingset for those wishing to relive the glory days of their childhood.
