Owners Jeff and Jennifer Carleton decided to open Mountain West Hard Cider after enjoying the cider traditions of Europe and researching the exponential growth of the craft beverage in the United States. Transplants from Philadelphia, they both moved to Utah for work, but quickly fell in love with the awe-inspiring state. After realizing there were just a few options for a local cider, Jeff and Jennifer quickly committed to bringing Utah cider options to the market. Together with seasoned winemaker and head cidermaker, Joel Goodwillie, Mountain West Hard Cider is proud to share an age-old European tradition of fermented hard cider with the local community using quality ingredients sourced right here in the Mountain West Region. "Ruby," the flagship cider for Mountain West Hard Cider, is named for the sandstone canyon that crosses from Colorado into Utah, and made from local Utah apples. Mountain West Cider is proud to offer 3 other year-round selections including 7-Mile Session, Cottonwood Dry-Hopped, Sweet Alice Peach and Turmeric and Desolation Prickly Pear Hard Cider as well as several rotating and seasonal varieties.
