Happy Monday, Scioneers!

This newsletter is coming to you live from Hawaii, where Elisabeth is ahem... "testing out" some Paradise Ciders...

So far, Guava & Lilikoi are the most popular -but lucky for you gang -- you only have to travel to Scion to find those same flavors in our cider selection!

Tonight is the first night of our OPEN MIC MONDAYS, beginning at 7:30PM and hosted by one of our other owners you don't always get to see - James Colman, who serves on the board of Heart & Soul Music foundation as well.

Our generous friends at LiveNation & Postfontaine are supporting the cause by continuing to provide the chance to win concert tickets weekly for performers and guests to attend - this week's show giveaways include a pair of tickets to:

--FOSTER THE PEOPLE - SEPTEMBER 18 at Beddy's Plaza
--Judah & the Lion - OCTOBER 8 at The Depot

*you must enter the drawing on Monday nights at the taproom - you don't have to be present to win - we'll text you in the following days if you've been selected!

CLASSIC GAME NIGHT THURSDAYS

Still a new fall program for us, but we'd love to see you all show out for SCRABBLE this week from 6PM to CLOSE.

It's like WORDS WITH FRIENDS, but better - because you can make some new friends while playing this classic brain game.

Please bring in your own board if you have one, as our sets are limited (for now) - and sit at a table to pair up or have others join to make groups of four!

This week is also the Central 9th Farmers Market on Jefferson St from 5PM to 7PM - the market will be serving up food, so grab that and bring it over.

Speaking of food - FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 18th - we're having MO's Chicago Dogs & Beef for a special event at the bar - so swing by, ask Elisabeth how the Hawaiian ciders were, and support or our local food truck!

It's also the LAST WEEKEND of service at Laziz Kitchen, so make sure you come to the neighborhood to grab your favorites from our sweet neighbors who we'll miss so much.

It's our final weekend of frozen cider slushies - as we get ready to start HOT MULLED CIDER SEASON on September 30th!

New cans from Shacksbury including this year's seasonal edition of Deer Snacks - a wild fermented favorite limited edition of since we opened -- and The Vermonter, Yuzu Ginger & Arlo are also returning winners! Rosa is a fave for natural red wine lovers as well.

WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 9 | 7:30PM

Join our cidermaker & Certified Pommelier Rio Connelly to learn more about the basics of cider!

He will walk you through the vast variety of cider styles and range of flavors that we feature Scion Cider Bar --

No tickets or RSVP required - just grab a few friends and bring them out for a fun night and guided tasting with one of Utah's cider pros.

21+ only, ID required for entry.

Hope you all had a fantastic holiday weekend!

Scion Cider Bar was rocking all weekend long, and we'd love to keep the momentum going!

If you didn't make it in yet, we've launched this month's new BY THE GLASS selections, and they are already a hit. Some bottles are very limited, so come in soon to try them before they're gone.

Need a better reason? We've got a FREE Cider 101 class with Rio happening this Wednesday, September 9th at 7:30PM -- so make plan to drop in and learn more about cider styles and profiles.

This month, we're also launching a few new weekly events - CLASSIC GAME NIGHTS on Thursdays, where YOU voted for rotating classic games each week.

This week, we'll be providing multiple sets of Trivial Pursuit - one of your TOP PICKS, to come play with your friends & strangers - make new friends by pulling up to a table & inviting others to play with you and anyone else you bring.
If you've got a special edition Trivial Pursuit & want to play with that - go for it - otherwise, we have several themed editions - 80's, 90's, 25th anniversary & Genus editions.

Upcoming theme nights include Scrabble, CLUE, Dominoes, Chess / Checkers. Again, feel free to bring your own boards & sets in to share with others.

Starting NEXT MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14th - we'll be hosting OPEN MIC MONDAYS at 7:30PM -

We invite you to share your musical talents, spoken word skills with readings or storytelling, try out your stand-up comedy or play around with improv acts, or make magic happen!

Bring your talents to the table & you may be handsomely rewarded.
