25yrs ago I opened the Bar at around this time 8am Started Prepping for the Day had a Little TV set up on a Fridge by the kitchen…Got my Coffee and Started Slicing Mushrooms looked up at the screen and saw a plane Fly into a Building and the screen split to another plane Crash?? Honestly Thought it was a Preview for a New Bruce Willis Movie…
Then a Guy was Banging on my Front Door… I opened it He said Turn on the Big Screen ( I had the only big screen tv downtown at the time)
He said We are Under Attack and It’s by a Guy Named Osama Bin Ladin !!!
I said Who And What… and the bar filled up and I made a lot of Coffee and America Had Been attacked!!! I went and got my Son out of school like many others and brought him back to the Tavern …No one was Saying a Word!!!
And then the Towers Fell and People had tears !!! Like Holy Hell What just happened
It was an awful terrible day!
I remember that all flights were canceled and someone took off from Ann Arbor Airport and Jets escorted him down! quickly
People were somber and hush But people also came together and quickly regrouped!!
9/11 was a Crazy Crazy Day
