Our second entry for the National Southdown Sale goes back to one of our very best ewes, the 1826 War Emblem daughter. 1826 has raised one in the show string about every year for Ephraim including his keeper show ewe for this year. I have no doubt this one will be a good breeding piece after her show career is done!

As we hit the road for the national sale weekend, I wanted to highlight each lot individually. Over the last year we have made an effort to cut down numbers and really focus on quality. In order to keep that number low, we have to sell some that we typically wouldn’t.

2565 has a pedigree packed with winners. Her grandma was a class winner at NAILE and All-American, Champion Ewe at OSF and won both the ewe lamb and yearling futurity. Her mom was Reserve Ewe at OSF and mom’s twin sister was Reserve Sr. Champion Ewe at Classic. Her 3/4 sister was a class winner at NAILE last fall.

National Sale Entries

We saved back a pair of late fall ewes we like a bunch. Both from great ewe families we have built our program around! We have cut our numbers down to 20 ewes and to stay that way we only kept one ewe lamb for Ephraim to show this year. These two represent the best of the best and most years one, if not both of these would be in his show set.
