Ok…so I never felt like I needed to come on our Page and do this, but I feel with the current state of inaccurate and misleading information being shuffled around that I needed to set the record straight.
I’ll keep this as brief as possible and to the point.
1.) The Pirate Sip Barrr no longer exists. I chose to shut the establishment down in mid-November of 2024.
2.) The bar was NEVER raided, searched or forced to be shut down. That was a personal decision which was made by me.
3.) Yes, there are two upstairs apartments that are part of the building, but are separate from the bar itself and have no access to the bar from within them.
Yes, one of those apartments was raided, searched and papers were served to the tenant that occupied that apartment at the time. The authorities DID NOT raid or search the establishment at that time or any other, but they were given verbal consent to do so if they felt it necessary.
4.) The building sat unoccupied for a few months until another individual signed a new lease with the building owner. They then began to renovate the inside and outside to their liking in preparation to open a new establishment. Just like what was done when The Pirate Sip Barrr was opened in the summer of 2012.
So this is a completely different establishment, with a completely different owner. The Pirate Sip Barrr no longer exists and hasn’t for 7 months.
5.) The current events that occurred in another one of the upstairs apartments yesterday has zero to do with The Pirate Sip Barrr, same as the previous incident.
These apartments have separate addresses and are rented out to tenants. And I’m sure that they would have raided, searched, questioned and apprehended or served the new tenants of the main building, which they DID NOT.
So the take aways from this message are:
1.) “I” closed The Pirate Sip Barrr down 7 months ago and it no longer exists.
2.) The Pirate Sip Barrr and the new establishment were/have never been raided , searched or shut down.
3.) The 2 upstairs apartments, with completely different addresses, are rented living spaces with tenants separate from the tenants of the main buildings.
The main building has a commercial space and the 2 spaces upstairs are living spaces. They all have separate leases and tenants.
4.) Lastly, The Pirate Sip Barrr no longer exists and hasn’t for 7 months. That location now has a new business that is preparing to open and no, just like The Sip, they have not been raided.
