Hello Everyone…..
Ashley and I have decided to close Blue Apron.
Our last service will be Thursday December 23.
We need to thank all of our past and current employees, customers, friends and vendors for your overwhelming support and confidence over the past 11 years.
We’ve achieved our primary goal of creating an interesting and consistent dining experience in our hometown of Salem while enabling those we’ve employed and served an opportunity to thrive in a diverse and growing restaurant community.
I spoke with a friend today whom I randomly saw while buying a new pair of sneakers. She asked about “things”; obviously the last 18 months has been tough in general and particularly tough on restaurants. I responded that things were going ok. Then she said, “But you are ok, right?”. And I said Yes. I honestly wasn’t really ready yet to tell anyone personally outside of family.
The reality is that, Yes, this is ok. Our staff seams at peace and so are Ashley and me. And I hope and pray that another talented chef or restaurateur will take a chance in Salem because it’s been an amazing place to operate our business.
Our staff has held on just as long as possible too. It’s been stressful. They’ve managed though to come together, facing shrinking resources, and really form a great team. But sometimes it’s really “too” much. Everyone who has contributed to our success has a bright future and we hope they can find the same spark that has ignited Blue Apron for so long.
I can’t overstate how proud I am of them!
Thank you again. We’ve learned a ton and have much more left to be curious about. I hope that our future endeavors will be as uplifted as our experience in Salem has been.
Be well! We will miss your smiles and kindness…..
