One week from tonight, Uptown Unbound Book Club officially begins.

Join us Tuesday, September 15, from 6 to 7 PM at Uptown Tap & Cigar for our inaugural discussion of Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke.

Yesteryear follows a social media-famous “tradwife” whose carefully curated pioneer lifestyle suddenly becomes very real when she wakes up in 1855. It’s a sharp setup, a great conversation starter, and exactly the kind of book that should give us plenty to talk about.

Love it, hate it. We're still figuring out what you think. Bring your opinion.

Didn’t finish the book? Come anyway. Read half of it? Come anyway. Haven’t started it but want to hear what everyone else thinks? Come anyway.

Grab a drink and join the discussion. We want good conversation, different opinions, a little camaraderie, and one very important rule: be polite. We can disagree and still enjoy the conversation.

Uptown Unbound will meet on the third Tuesday of every month from 6 to 7 PM, and at this first meeting we’ll also talk about what we want to read next.

📚 Introducing Uptown Unbound Book Club

There’s a new reason to head to Uptown on a Tuesday night, and this one sounds downright intellectual.

Uptown Unbound is a new, open book club meeting at Uptown Tap & Cigar. It’s part book nerd, part night at the bar, and open to anyone who wants to grab a drink and join the discussion.

📖 Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke

In Yesteryear, a social media famous “tradwife” who has built her brand around an idealized pioneer lifestyle suddenly wakes up in the very real and considerably less glamorous world of 1855.

And no, there’s no entrance exam. Read the whole book, read part of it, or come listen and decide whether you want to read it afterward. Just show up, grab a drink, and look for the Uptown Unbound sign.

Why “Unbound”? It’s a little bookish wordplay and a promise that the conversation can wander wherever a good book takes it.

Meanwhile, everyone else at the bar will just have to be content with drinking. We’ll be drinking and discussing literature.

Uptown Unbound meets from 6:00 to 7:00 PM on the third Tuesday of every month at Uptown Tap & Cigar.
