'Burg Pub Riders

'Burg Pub Riders We are a monthly organized pub ride. Come enjoy bikes, brews and the Burg with us! We (that includes YOU) ride on the Saturday after First Friday each month.

This ride is FREE! We experience the Burgs pubs via bicycle experiencing new watering holes you may not have been to before, and old favorites too! Each month we have a theme, which will be announced at least two weeks before each ride. You are not required to come in costume the first ride, but by the second, you won't want to miss out! Our rides focus on how legendary our 'Burg is, and as we gro

w we'll start spreading the love too. We'll let you know where we're starting and stopping each month, and what pubs we are going to. For safety, we need to ride as a group. We know some of you are lone wolves, and that's totally cool, but not on these rides. You can ride by yourself anytime you want, but on our rides, we stay together. Let's keep St. Pete's finest happy, capiece? We look forward to riding with YOU! Here's the disclaimer: This is not a business. We do not make money off this. We are not responsible for you or your bike. If you get obnoxious, you will be asked to leave. We're out to have a good time not tear up the town! Please bring head and tail lights for your bike as well as a way to lock it up at each stop. One more disclaimer. We (usually) obey all traffic rules. This means that we stop at red lights. We carry radios throughout the group and will have the lead slow down so that the rest can catch up. I say usually because there are exceptions. We will cork an intersection if there are only a few riders trying to get through and it is safer to get them through with the group than to try to catch them up. We use common sense when it comes to corking. If you are asked to stop at a light, particularly by a member with a radio; please do so.

I know you haven't heard from me in awhile. Sorry, things got hectic. Anyway, if anyone is looking for a really cool bike, ABC on Central and 66th Street has an Electra Straight 8 that has been there for almost a year!

I've been into the cruisers for quite some time now. I like the already done bikes like the Straight 8, customized unmodified frames (like mine) and custom built cruisers. Soon, I will be starting a group for other cruiser enthusiasts. It'll be different than bar hopping on bikes as this will be about the bikes. I'll post something here once I get it going.

Burg Pub Riders! This Sunday a group of riders from Tampa are coming over on the ferry to tour some of our breweries.

Lets show them some St Pete love! We'll meetup at 12:30 pm at Hops and Props.

We will roll for St Pete Brewing about 1:30 pm. Next stops are Cage Brewing, and then back to Hops and Props to see our Tampa friends off. Maybe we'll do an optional last stop at Ale and the Witch!

While this is a fundraising event sponsored by D-10 Society, there is no cost for St Pete folks to attend. (FREE)

This is an interesting video about the Coast to Coast Trail that the FDOT, FDEP, and others are working on. It will start in St. Petersburg and end in Titusville and should be completed within the next 5 years. I will post a link to a pdf with more information for those interested.

When it opens, I want to be one of the first to ride it! You will be able to camp at Starkey Park, Croom, Withlacoochee forest, and others along the way. I'll alternate between camping and hotels, especially since I'll be doing it on my cruiser.
