Here at CrowBar we LOVE when you bring your friendly fur babies (or furless) to hang out on the patio!! Here’s some of the cuties that have come by recently. Feel free to ask for Jen to come snap a picture of your dog or cat! (Roger was our first feline friend, and he was an immediate celebrity). As long as they stay on a leash, on the patio, and are behaved- please bring them! It truly makes our day 🖤

Our beloved Liza is out of town and asked me (Jen) to take over Social Media while she’s gone. Stay tuned for an inside look of the shenanigans the team here at CrowBar get ourselves into 😜

Well. This is awkward. 🤭🐦

A few days ago we dressed up like crows, crossed the river into Minneapolis, and left a solemn breadcrumb trail of deviled egg shots in the general direction of the Minnesota Star Tribune offices.

Shortly thereafter, Joy Summers named our deviled egg shot one of the Top 5 Things the Strib food team ate this week.

Joy has assured us this was purely a coincidence.

We believe her.

Mostly. 🐦‍⬛✨

We are not saying the ritual worked.

We are just saying the East Side witches remain powerful.

In all seriousness, thank you, Joy. We know how many places and stories compete for attention every week, and recognition like this means a lot to a small team pouring everything they have into creating something special.

We appreciate the recognition, the laugh, and the fact that you were such a good sport about one East Side business owner making completely rational decisions while dressed as a crow. Your voice and support, not just for us but for so many incredible small businesses across the Twin Cities, truly matters. ❤️

Anyway. We will stop leaving ceremonial egg offerings at your office now.*

There’s this misconception that hospitality is about serving people.

It’s not.

Serving is mechanics. Hospitality is emotional intelligence. It’s reading the room before a word is spoken. It’s noticing the couple celebrating something they haven’t told anyone yet, or the person sitting quietly at the end of the bar trying to hold themselves together after a brutal day.

People don’t remember perfection. They remember how a place made them feel.

They remember the bartender who noticed they seemed off and checked in anyway. The neighborhood spots where laughter spilled out onto the sidewalk. The places that felt warm, imperfect, alive, like they belonged to actual human beings instead of a branding strategy.

That’s what we care about at CrowBar.

Yes, we joke around. We serve deviled egg shots and dirt cups with gummy rum worms because life is already serious enough. But underneath all of that is a team of people who genuinely care about people. Deeply.

We care about the regular who comes in after a hard shift and finally exhales. The friend group reconnecting after months apart. The person who walked through our doors alone and leaves feeling a little less lonely.

Because hospitality still matters.

In a world that feels increasingly automated and transactional, genuine human care feels almost radical now.

A bartender remembering your name after one visit. Someone sliding over a water before you even ask. A zero proof cocktail made with the same intention and respect as every other drink. A neighborhood spot that feels like someone left the porch light on for you when you weren’t sure where else to go.

That’s hospitality.

Not perfection.

Care.

REAL care.

Because at the end of the day, nobody actually needs another cocktail bar.

What people are starving for is connection.

The drink is just the excuse.

We spent all this time building a serious whiskey program just to hand you a dirt cup with boozy daiquiri gummies and a tiny shovel.

No regrets.

The Dirt Cup
Bourbon dark chocolate pudding, chocolate graham crumble, matcha dirt, and boozy daiquiri gummies.

Somewhere in downtown Minneapolis, a lone crow has accepted her fate.

Drifting silently through the streets.

Leaving tiny deviled egg offerings in her wake.

Leading strangers toward candlelight, vinyl, martinis, and whatever strange little thing we have going on over here.

No anger.
No resentment.

Just an extremely normal response from a tiny East Side cocktail bar with access to costumes and poor decision making skills.

We love our friends that made the list.
We love Joy Summers.
We just also love committing to a bit. 😂

Anyway.
Follow the eggs.

Some days are for noise. Today feels better spent reflecting.

Thinking about sacrifice, about gratitude, and about how lucky we are to gather with the people we love in the first place.

We’ll see you tomorrow, East Side. ❤️
