Dear Friends of the Marienstadt Public House,
As some of you may have already heard, it is with great regret, that I wish to inform you that the Marienstadt will, officially, not be reopening.. In what was a very difficult, drawn out, and complicated decision for me, personally, I decided that it was no longer feasible for me to give to the Marienstadt what is required to make it operate as the place we know and appreciate, and therefore I am it closing permanently. In the end, I could not, and cannot make the commitment needed to get it to the place it was, and sustain it, and for that, I appologize. It takes a lot effort, heart, and perseverance to make a restaurant work, and I was fortunate to be surrounded by so many people that were able to shoulder so much of that burden for me. To anyone who cooked, served, cleaned dishes or floors, assisted in the kitchen, loaned or gave me equipment, repaired anything for a fee or for free, I thank you. To those who donated historical artifacts, pictures, or decorations; To all those who wished me well and an extended offers of assistance in anyway, I thank you. To the other restaurant owners and suppliers who gave advice, and helped me when I was in need, I thank you. To anyone who gave their time to help me in the beginning, middle, or end, in anyway, I thank you. And most of all, I would like to thank all the people who supported us and patronized the Marienstadt to make it what it, truly, was,... a Public House. Our food was great, and I am truly proud of what we accomplished in that regard, with our tiny kitchen. It is truly remarkable, and something I will always be proud of.. However, the food aside, it was the sense of community and level of friendship and family and the interactions and memories, and intimacy of the pub that will make it, forever, a special place and time, in my life, and I hope, yours. I bought the Public House in 2014, and from that day to today, I had no idea that it would turn into what it did, nor how much it would be appreciated. And no idea that I would make so many new acquaintances and friends, both, from here, and all over the world. As difficult as it was, and as maddening as the business can be, I do not regret a single moment. It was truly remarkable journey and I thank all of you for making the Public House a home, for all of us to enjoy. I can't say enough how lucky I was to have experienced it with you. There was truly something special about the Marienstadt... Thank you!!!
Bobby
P.S. Going forward I will be renting the space. Starting, as of now, renovations are being made to accommodate, Sugar Mama's Bakery, owned and operated by Missy Gornati. Stay tuned for more details! I'm excited to see the next chapter of St. Mary's "public house"! I wish Missy the very best of luck in her new venture, and I hope she gets as much love and support, as I got from all of you!
