Rummage sale resumes today at 4PM!

This one is a little less glamorous - sound system, chalkboards, glassware, bar stools, and lots of kitchen stuff, inlcuding dry goods and paper products. All arcade cabinets are sold. Bar is closed, rummage sale only.

LAST CALL - Tonight is the final night for the bar being open - selling all remaining beer and liquor at 50% off, so please come help us drink every last drop. 😭🍻

The response to yesterday's rummage sale was overwhelming! We are taking today to reset and will re-open rummage on Wednesday with the reamining items for sale plus some additional kitchen and dry goods that didn't fit on the floor yesterday! A couple larger items like the outdoor couch, Joust, Centipede, NBA Jam, and giant chalkboard are also still available and will be cross-posted online - PM for info.

Rummage sale opens at 11:30! Bar will be open with remaining product, no kitchen. Cash only.

Replica arcade cabinets, TVs, vending machine, outdoor couch, consoles, tabletop games, glassware, beer signs...pretty much everything you saw around you that belonged to us is for sale! We will respond to questions on items as best we can, but please know that we aren't able to closely monitor social media or hold smaller specific items.

We keep saying it every day, but we are truly humbled by the number of people who have been coming to say goodbye - we appreciate every single person who walked through our doors last night.

We are open for lunch today with an extremely limited menu, and will be out of food by dinner service. We will continue to operate as bar-only after that, but unfortunately are not able to allow outside food for licensing/insurance reasons.

We have had a ton of inquiries about games, consoles, arcade cabinets, and other items around the bar - these will all be available at the rummage sale tomorrow. More details to come in a separate post!

The last couple of days we have been floored by everyone who has been coming to say goodbye - we can't even express how much it means to us, and we're so grateful to all who let us be part of your lives and your community for the past 5 years.

In keeping with Thursday night tradition, our final karaoke is tonight at 9! Expect shots, emotional ballads, and quite a few cameos from your favorite past 42 staff members 😉

The time has come to say goodbye to one of our favorite places to sing. Tonight is the last night of at 42 Ale House. Come sing one more song with us as they wind down and end their epic journey.

Join us tonight for our final Quizmaster Trivia at 7PM! We'll miss all our loyal trivia regulars, the crazy theme trivia costumes, and of course the "trivia on the trivia" from our beloved host Pablo!

Sadly, the 42 Ale House will be closing its doors at the end of February.

Therefore our final quiz there will be TONIGHT (2/19) at 7pm. Join our Quizmaster Pablo C. and the great staff for one last hurrah!

Today we are announcing that after 5 years at our current location, the journey of 42 Ale House is coming to an end. Our current lease wraps up at the end of the month, and after extensive discussion about where we are at in our lifecycle, and future plans for the building, we have decided not to renew our lease.

It’s been a great 5 years for 42 Ale House, and 7 years for the “42” brand. Despite the split with 42 Lounge in 2016 we continued to serve the geek community -- while softening our focus and trying to become a “geek-lite” bar/restaurant that was welcoming to a much wider variety of people and interests, yet true to our geek/nerd heritage. Looking at the number or similar bars/restaurants, and events, throughout the Milwaukee area that exist now, but did not at the point we first opened our doors, we would consider our mission to be a resounding success.

We would like to sincerely thank all of our patrons and staff that we have known since the beginning, or met along the way -- you have made the past 5 years memorable in ways we will never forget, and we will miss you dearly -- from birthdays, to promotions, to graduations and daily conversation; you have made it a joy, and a privilege, to come in to work every day.

We will remain open, winding down as the month continues. We will try to post about the last day but it’s going to be whenever we run out of product, or enough staff has secured other positions and moved on. Gift cards will be honored while we remain open -- please use them as soon as possible.

Again, we cannot express enough how grateful we are to have met each and every one of you, and hope you will stop by one last time to reminisce and have a pint.
