This year, we are proud to recognize Amy and Randy Senkyr as Grand Marshals, honoring their dedication to family, community, and service.
After moving to St. Clair in 1990, Amy provided child care to young children for 10 years. Inspired by her mother, who was also a teacher, Amy followed in her footsteps and devoted 23 years to teaching first grade at the elementary school. She retired this year, closing a remarkable chapter in a career defined by patience, compassion, and a love for helping children learn and grow. Outside the classroom, Amy enjoys baking, reading, outdoor activities, and gardening, hobbies that reflect her creative and nurturing spirit. In earlier years, you would find Amy helping coach Saturday morning soccer, volunteering with the Student Teacher Parent Council, and at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she taught religious ed.
Amy and Randy are the proud parents of three children: Joey (Bronwyn), Robert, and Maria. Family has always been at the center of their lives, and they treasure every opportunity to spend time together.
Randy has been a dedicated employee of Javens Electric since 1989, now known as Laketown Electric Corp and has also served his community through the St. Clair Volunteer Fire Department. Randy was also a dedicated Cubmaster for our local Cub Scout pack. In his free time, he enjoys helping friends and family with farming, always willing to lend a hand wherever it is needed.
Together, Amy and Randy enjoy traveling by exploring new places and experiencing outdoor adventures, spending summer days at the lake, and boating. Among their greatest joys, is spending time with their one year old grandson, watching him learn and grow.
Their commitment to helping others, strong work ethic, and devotion to family have made them respected and valued members of the community. Some of their favorite memories of St. Clair Days include: watching the kids run in the Firefly 5K, walking in the parade with the teachers and the steak fry at the fire hall. They feel blessed to live in a small town where people genuinely care about each other. The strong support for the school, its students, and staff, along with the sense of community and connection, are among the many reasons they are proud to call this town home.
Please join us in congratulating Amy and Randy as our honored Grand Marshals at this year's St. Clair Days parade on June 28th, 12pm and thank them for the many ways they have enriched the lives of those around them.
