Homebrewers, best friends, and brothers in arms, Steve Gagner and Matt Kehaya originally drafted the business plan for 14th Star Brewery on the back of a notebook while serving our country on the battlefields of Afghanistan. Upon returning home to Vermont, Matt and Steve first opened the doors to 14th Star Brewing Co in 2012 in St. Albans, brewing beer on a 3.5 bbl pilot brewhouse they hand-built

using repurposed retrofitted maple sap collection tanks. We are passionate and committed to crafting world-class beer that honors traditional styles while imparting unexpected twists and creative new directions. Our brewers respect the techniques of the past while finding new and innovative ways to brew. This balance of history, innovation, and flavors can be found in every batch of 14th Star beer. Our Brewery features a 30 bbl brewhouse with a current production level of 8000 barrels per year. In a typical year, we fill over 1.2 million cans of craft beer! Our original system serves as our 3.5 bbl pilot brewhouse where our talented Brewers Kendall Krebs and Andrew Godiksen let their creativity shine, producing small-batch experimental draft brews all year long. All of our beer is unfiltered, unpasteurized, and brewed with 100% all-natural ingredients! Visit our Brewery & Taproom in St. Albans Vermont for a rotating lineup of 14th Star favorites and limited-release beer from our pilot brew system while enjoying a bite of creative casual fare from our friends at Grazers. Our Brewery is a gathering place for friends, family, and craft beer lovers! Great beer is what we produce, community is what we build.

UPDATE: The water issue has been resolved, and we will be back OPEN TODAY for Taproom service (6/2//26)! Join us for a brew, a bite from Black Radish, and Taproom Trivia Night!

Due to an unforeseen issue with our water service, 14th Star Brewery and Black Radish at 14th Star will be CLOSED for the evening.

We anticipate the issue being resolved in time for service tomorrow, but please keep an eye on our page for updates.
