Das Haus über dem Fischotterbecken Das Haus is Steve Espach’s private residence looking over Otter Pond in Sag Harbor, New York We also brew our own beer, ciders, wines and mead.

Das Haus über dem Fischotterbecken is German for The House over the Otter Pond. We're not a restaurant or B&B, but we cook very well and we do have a nice room to let. We are located on the pond opposite from Main Street and if you become our “friend" you might be invited to dine with me!

The ginger is in this semi dry cider is snappy! Your tongue is excited by the dryness ant the taste buds are rewarded with the apple and ginger. Great carbonation. This seems like a healthful beverage.

A Cottage Pie was called for on this rainy, windy, and chilly day.

Ground beef 50/50 with short rib, carrots,sautéed pearl onions, tomato paste, Worcestershire, gravy, mashed potato and Romano cheese on top. Goes perfectly with a PBR!

Christmas Eve meals:

• Lunch: Grilled cheese and Bratwurst and mustard on rye and a big bowl of the remaining tomato basil soup. Then I sliced another brat into the soup and I added some vinegar and sugar to make a Polish style sauce.

• Dinner: Chicken tenders India style with raita, curry sauce, and onion chutney with Reisling

• Dessert: Root Beer Float.

Improvised with drizzled chocolate sauce and a sprinkling of cinnamon and sugar.

Kind of a French beignet version of churros. Demerara sugar gives a crunch that jam can't duplicate!
