Ask me anything! Hello everyone, my name is Larry Toney, I'm a 33 year old organizer of the California Dance Festival, and every year after the festival I like to do an "Ask Me Anything" post where I invite everyone to interact and ask any questions they'd like responded to! There's so much I'm curious about, and after 5 years of the festival maybe your curiosity was sparked too. So you can ask me questions, share feedback, or what you'd like to see in the future, and I will share a thoughtful response.
Before we start, I'd like to explain some things
1. I hope you liked Folklorico on stage!
I saw a Folklorico performance at the Reno Latin Dance Festival that made me feel a sense of pride even though I'm not Latin. I thought that Latinos could use that right now, so we added a lot of Latin dances and themes to spark that pride.
2. What happened with Red Bull?
I thought this was interesting. You might have seen the X Games marketing their event this weekend within the hotel! Well Monster is a large sponsor of it and they secured a radius around the venue (Cal Expo) where Red Bull couldn't market which included the hotel, so they couldn't dedicate the assets we had planned. But they still gave us a ton of Red Bulls that we had a great party with!
