Train individually. Compete with a partner. Build all-around fitness at RXFIT. 🔥
Friday Night Lights on September 25 was all about teamwork as we took on an ATHX-style workout in pairs. It was a chance to experience the format together—and ATHX offers both individual and pairs competition.
Here’s what the 2027 workouts bring to the floor. Three portions test your strength, endurance, and conditioning.
💪 STRENGTH
Individuals and pairs tackle a 1-rep-max shoulder-to-overhead, 2-rep-max back squat, and 3-rep-max deadlift. Competing in pairs means both athletes lift and contribute to the team score.
🏃 ENDURANCE
Individuals complete a 3 km run before accumulating maximum SkiErg distance within a 24-minute cap. Pairs start their runs together—3 km for ATHX and Pro, or 2.4 km for Lite—with the first finisher able to begin skiing immediately.
🔥 METCON-X
Both formats begin and end on the rower, with dumbbell ground-to-overhead, dumbbell bench press, sandbag squats, sandbag carries, and burpees over a soft bench in between. Individuals take on their own prescribed workload, while pairs face a team workout, with category-specific reps and loads and a 25-minute cap.
Competing individually gives you a personal benchmark to train toward. Pairs brings the added challenge of communication, teamwork, and performing alongside someone who’s working toward the same finish.
Thank you to everyone who partnered up and joined us Friday. Trying something new together is a great way to build confidence for what comes next.
We’ll be running more ATHX-focused events at RXFIT to introduce both formats and help people prepare. We’ll work on the movements, pacing, strength, and conditioning—plus partner strategies for those planning to compete as a team.
Whether you want to enter individually, team up with a friend, or simply train toward a new goal, there’s a way to get involved. Message us “ATHX” and follow for upcoming events.
