Sending encouragement to Covenhoven and the Kickstarter campaign to support the making of Joel Van Horne's fourth album. With just hours to go, it's in the stretch-goal phase – with more funding, greater collaboration is possible. (See comments for link.) And here's a glimpse of what one form of Covenhoven collaboration looks like.

It's no stretch to say that, during a recent Maine ice storm, amid draping pines and power lines, and ominously bobbing trees weighed down with crooked chandeliers, we had this one on repeat.

If the music resonates, consider lending your support today. Independent artists really need us right now (an extra hug to you, if you are one.)

Sending you this warmth, woven with perfectly hand-stitched threads of hope.

On International Women's Day, thank you for every way you have supported this and all other women-owned businesses. This video is a real source of joy and flight (when a frozen surface is not handy). The empowerment feels authentic. And from the geeky, technical side, look at those editing transitions. Just wicked.

Paste's Anna Haas writes of Gregory Alan Isakov's "Caves": Essential to the song’s boundary-less feeling is the enchanting vocal layering — the layers reach out in every direction to create the sense that they extend forever, but you are still somehow at the center of it all.

Gregory Alan Isakov's newest song "Caves" grows out of silence.

As snow squalls begin to swirl, sending you the kindness of "Cloud Nine" by Ben Howard, written about his sister upon her move to Mexico (the other Mexico.) It was performed in Bath (the other Bath.) One million thanks.

Ben performs 'Cloud Nine' to a sell out crowd in Bath, part of his Old Pine tour.
