We are Immigrants from Germany, a family-run Biergarten that offers Micro brewed beers and authentic German home-style meals. Although, we are still Germans in blood, the United States have captured our hearts, and we are happy to cheer to the American-German friendship we have experienced here. Opening "Kathrin's Biergarten" is like a dream. Creating a place for people who know that a beer is not just a drink to quench one's thirst, or fluid food, or fermented mash or a breakfast drink. As bold as this statement might sound, but it can be put as simple as this: Beer is culture! The German abstract noun "Gemuetlichkeit" has been adopted into English. If one doesn't know what that means, and googles it, one will find numerous pages explaining it, AND - if one clicks on images- you'll get pictures of German Biergarten scenes, permented by Gemuetlichkeit. And that is what "Kathrin's Biergarten" will offer you - exactly what makes a beer even more beautiful - the sense of "Gemuetlichkeit". It's more than outstanding beers and great food - you'll experience the atmosphere of a wonderful beer craft community - you'll be part of that culture.

She comes every year, and not only does she come and enjoys a b**r, but rocks the chicken dance (wait for it...). Lydia, 96 years old! How great is that?
Open 4pm today; one more Oktoberfest this coming up Saturday. Prost to some German fun that doesn't stop at any age!!

"Ruhe vor dem Sturm" (The quiet before the storm).
Since 9am this morning, setting up for our first Oktoberfest in 2026 (second will be next Saturday)- still working on it.

Modified (limited) menu all day. We are sold out (reserved 35 tickets for at the door), so after 3:30pm, people with tickets only.
Music starts 5pm.

Please come in early for preferred seating.
Great German b**r, fantastic live music, fun games, lots of Dirndls and Lederhosen, perfect weather, and a wonderful atmosphere.

Schweinshaxe - a typical Bavarian dish - is b**r braised pork knuckle, slow cooked for four hours. Served with fries or mashed potatoes and sauerkraut.

Note: Tomorrow (Oktoberfest) slightly modified and limited menu all day. After 3:30pm, ticket holders only. We have 35 tickets left at the door and will start selling them at 3:30pm.

9/9/2025 - Today is National Wiener Schnitzel Day!

New shirts are in the making!!

Wiener Schnitzel is first mentioned in 1831 in a cookbook where it was called "eingebröselte Kalbsschnitzchen", and would find its way to Vienna in 1857. The dish continued to appear throughout the region, and one comment from 1887 said that it was “a gastronomic dream”.
(Not to confused with Wienerschnitzel, the place across our street. It's NOT A HOT DOG!!! 🙂

When we visited Reissdorf in Germany in July, they invited us (including my kids) for lunch in their "Reissdorf Brauhaus".
My husband saw this "Reissdorf Neon Männchen (little man) as deco and loved it.
Ingo (the Marketing & Sales directer of Reissdorf) said they would come with his family to CA this summer and would visit us then.

And they actually came, and now, we invited him and his family for lunch at the Biergarten serving them Reissdorf in Rocklin!!

When I told my kids, they were like "What, wait, they ACTUALLY came?!"

- "Why wouldn't they? They said they would come, so of course, they come. We mean what we say, or we wouldn't say it. He is German! :-)"

Not only that, but we also got this Reissdorf Neon Männchen from him now in our restaurant in Rocklin. Isn't he cute? I stopped the time. It takes 21 second for the Männchen to empty his glass (the lights are moving). And he drinks non- stop....

My office is as big as a shoebox, and since I am an outside person anyhow, I have most of my talks with employees in the back of the house next to the kitchen entrance.
For the last weeks, we have visitors. As cute as they are, they can be pretty loud with their "baa concert" while I am trying to have conversations.
They are either very brave or pretty dumb, or simply don't listen to me when I keep telling them: "Hey, the kitchen is right there! If you don't hush, you will get on the grill, and there will be goat Schnitzel as next special!!"

Or they feel safe as they know that the next two weekends, we already have decided on the Schweinshaxn as specials.

Thanks to the fire department providing us some entertainment :-)

Beef Bourguignon
Slow braised beef in burgundy w**e with stewed carrots, pearl onions, and mushrooms. Served with mashed potatoes and a green salad.

Currywurst - It has inspired a museum and a musical composition, and even caused a fight involving a Berlin Green party politician. Fans of the dish even have their own holiday: Day of the Currywurst on September 4th.

According to the museum, the snack was first created on September 4th 1949 in the Charlottenburg district of Berlin, on the junction of Kantstraße and Kaiser-Friedrich-Straße by the German woman Herta Heuwer. At the time, the area was under the control of the British. In the post-war period, Allied soldiers were introducing new foods and eating habits to Germany, such as the Americans eating tomato ketchup with steak, which was adapted to eating sausage with ketchup. Curry powder was brought over by the British.
