The Rad Cat himself, Mr. Nunez, aged our collaboration double stout in a bourbon barrel with fresh vanilla and its on tap today. Charlie will be there this evening drinking it. Come get some before he drinks it all. 💙 🐱

DAY 7

The final day darkness before any glimmer of light can be seen in the far off distance. Today, we bring to you a collaboration brew from that recently closed its doors. But not before helping to create, in our candle lit dungeon, this dark barrel aged brew.

Bourbon Barrel Aged Rad Cat
A double stout originally brewed with locally grown Chinook hops. Then we took a portion of this dark elixir and aged it in a bourbon barrel that was provided by our friends along with fresh vanilla. Hints of oak, vanilla with just a touch of that sweet bourbon helps to balance out all the flavors.

Our Brewmaster Charlie was interviewed yesterday by the infamous John Holl. For nearly 20 years John has been covering the beer industry as a reporter and editor. Currently, he’s the editor of All About Beer and a contributing editor for Wine Enthusiast Magazine. On-air he hosts the Drink Beer, Think Beer podcast, and is co-host of Steal This Beer. He has authored several books including the recently published The Craft Brewery Cookbook. His most recent (and bizarre) claim to fame was his role in the Hatchet Wielding Hitchhiker documentary on Netflix.

Blue Cat Brewing Company, a staple in downtown Rock Island for almost three decades, closed on New Years Eve 2022. It’s safe to say this decision was not made
