RIT's House of General Science

RIT's House of General Science The House of General Science (HoGS) is a special interest house over a decade old.

We hold strong ties with the College of Science and College of Applied Science and Technology at RIT, the Rochester Museum of Science, and have good rapport with other Special Interest Houses on campus. In addition to being an academically driven floor, we here on HoGS are a sociable bunch, doing a variety of activities together from apple picking to rock climbing, and even just watching movies in our lounge together. We also do a variety of community service events around campus and in the greater Rochester area throughout the year. Members on floor are for all kinds of sciences, and we do not only accept science majors into our House. We have a variety of majors on floor, including, mathematics, chemistry, physics, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, software engineer, computer science, graphic design, international business, environmental sustainability, and civil engineering technology out of many! We encourage you to join us if you have an interest in science and want to spend a great year around great people. HoGS went to Six Flags Darien Lake September 5th for a full day of food, rides and even the water park!

Acceptance has been announced on MyLife.rit.edu, if you've been accepted DM us to get the official HoGS Discord server invite. This server allows you to connect with E-Board, members, alumni and other incoming students.

Meet the President, John Zobbi!! John is a fourth year bioinformatics and computational biology student and is an off-floor member of HoGS. The President leads weekly HoGS meetings and is the connection between HoGS and RIT Residence Life.

Meet the Vice President, Hannah Graupman!! Hannah is a second year biochemistry student and is an on-floor member of HoGS. The Vice President is in charge of and of comittee heads and keeping HoGS running internally.

Meet the Treasurer, Matthew Freunscht!! Matt is a third year biology student and is an off-floor member of HoGS. The Treasurer manages the HoGS finances and makes purchases for the house.

Meet the Secretary, Jack Fontaine!! Jack is a fourth year mechanical engineering student and is an off-floor member of HoGS. The Secretary takes notes during meetings, helps manage records and our constitution.

Meet the Project Co-Head, Ruben Vasquez!! Ruben is a second year electrical engineering student and is off-floor members of HoGS. Project Committee plans and creates HoGS projects to be displayed at RIT Brick City Weekend and RIT Imagine.
