My first location on Mt Hope Ave. The store turns 40 this Summer.
The first 9 months I worked 7 days a week, which I don't recommend.
Then Bob showed up and never left (thank god) and it's been 6 days ever since..
Truth be told I could've gone to 5 days a week, about 38 years ago, but the store is my He**in.
Even a ju**ie has to take a break at some point though.
So I'm closing Mondays from here on out, if I can handle the withdrawls.

Hi Fi Lounge was one of the first US dealers for Advance Paris, having heard them at an Audio Show in Toronto a few years back, I knew I had to have them. Since then they've made a big impact Stateside. Lots of YouTube reviewers taking note etc.
Now through Memorial Day they are running a sale on some of their most popular models. The A10 which I use as my reference amp here at the shop is $500 off. As is the spectacular A12 and the all-in -one 'My Connect '250. Too my my regulars (you know who you are) that have been swooning over these, this is your oppurtunity :) Again, they have to be invoiced by May 25.

Obligatory photo of some of the RECORD STORE DAY LPs I got in for this Saturday, 4/18 open 10AM. I ordered heavier for this RSD than I have in a while. The consensus being this was the best list in a while…
In other little news , I am restocked on the very popular Elac Debut .3 models, after selling out yet again..
Lastly, while I know most of you that shop at Hi Fi Lounge are very wealthy, sometimes people like to get a more modestly priced turntable. To that end I have fixed up several units priced between $175 and $295. Unlike the units you might pick up on EBay or Marketplace , every TT sold here is properly set-up, tested and working. With either brand new or excellent condition styli. Hope to see you Saturday.

Busy last half of the week at HFL. When the weather got cold again, it was like someone flipped a switch. And it was a good mix of people too. Some buying their first turntable. Some whom have been in this hobby forever, making upgrades. Some people pulling their equipment out of mothballs to get it serviced.
But the coolest part is young people who even though they can essentially get free music all day, have decided that owning the physical artifact is meaningful. I had a group of young women, who seemed knowledgeable beyond their years, griping handfuls of used CDs.
One guy who might have been 18 yrs old, came in looking for Led Zeppelin 4 on vinyl, which oddly he hadn’t been able to find. When I handed it to him, the excitement was palpable. When he left I saw him raise it above his head, like a boxer that just won a match, to show his friends waiting in the car. lt occurred to me that’s probably a little how I felt, the first time I bought it in the 1970s.

A few things: Pro-Ject Espirit SB/DC Turntable. This is the upgraded version of the Debut Carbon DC. With an Acrylic platter and electronic speed control. It has an Ortofon 2M Red cart. Stylus was changed very recently.. Next is a VPI HW 16.5 record cleaning machine. Unit has been tested. Does not show much wear and tear. Comes with a few accessories… Finally we have gotten a nice LP collection with a little different bent than usual. I’m always interested in nice records here. More than happy to pay cash or trade for audio equipment.

A little different for HFL, a VHS / DVD combo unit. It came to me still wrapped, never used, so I couldn’t resist . We tested it and indeed it works like new. Asking 125.
