No September calendar yet (blame the intern), but we still have some great events this week! Draw Club and Free Art Night tomorrow (Thursday, 9/3) and First Friday on Friday! Also, this took me way too many tries to get this video done without messing up...maybe an outtakes reel in the future?

Join us on Saturday, September 12th from 3 to 5pm for book club with Emily is Overbooked! Ticket price includes one beverage of your choice and discussion around the book. This month, we'll be reading The Poet Empress by Shen Tao. Read the book before you come (or not!) and come ready to talk all things fantasy this month.

Link in bio!

This anti-romantasy fantasy centers around a desperate peasant girl in a starving village who offers herself up as a concubine to the cruel prince, only to find herself embroiled in court politics and a burgeoning civil war.

If you can't make this month, swipe to see the upcoming months!!

It's that time again!

Tonight at 6:30 is our q***r social- we will have some low key activities and our bartender Lucas will be on hand to create conversation as needed.

August's featured drink is "Rule 62" - a grown-up Shirley Temple (but still booze-free) featuring Wilfred's 0.0 Aperitifs. Reinventing the Spritz., Rochester’s own FIZ POP/COLLEGE CLUB BEVERAGES Primo Gassosa (lemon lime), house made grenadine, and All The Bitter Cherry Coffee and New Orleans bitters.

50% of the proceeds from this drink ($6 per drink) goes to Grace of God Recovery house, a spiritual-based, family-centered home committed to guiding men on their journey to healing and wholeness from addiction.

Grace of God is an outreach of Spiritus Christi, an inclusive, welcoming, and progressive Catholic church.

Rule 62 is an informal rule for AA that reminds people: "Don't take yourself so damn seriously." 😉

Come support a great cause and connect with your inner child in the process!

Finally! After almost two months I'm finishing our core values series. One slight correction: it was Buber, a theologian, not Burke, who coined the term "I/Thou" (I hope my professor Dr. Berry isn't watching this!)

Even if it doesn't have a succinct, one word name like "impact" or "inclusion," it doesn't make it any less important. We live in a world where so many of our relationships are valued based on what you can do for me, not who you are as a human being. We all deserve that respect, and to be valued as equals, regardless of anything else. We strive to live that way at AltBar.

Hi everyone,

Honestly, we can't believe it's August already (as evidenced by the late calendar drop -- too busy having fun!). We've only got one full month of summer left, and we're determined to make it a great one with all of the fun events we have lined up for the month.

We've also got a brand new drink for August, benefiting Grace of God Recovery House (an outreach of Spiritus Christi, an inclusive, welcoming, and progressive Catholic church here in Rochester). The drink is a fun twist on a classic Shirley Temple, called Rule 62 - featuring Wilfred’s Aperitif, Rochester's own Fiz Primo Gassosa (lemon lime), house made grenadine, and All the Bitter Cherry Coffee and New Orleans bitters. Rule 62 is an informal

Scroll down for the full lineup, and grab your tickets early for the events that catch your eye — a few tend to sell out fast.

We also have a few new products:
- the brand new Pandan Lime Lucky Frog (it's our favorite one yet!)
- Wyld CBD sparkling water
- Best Day Brewing Mango IPA

See you at the bar soon! 🥂

Cheers,
Meg & Bob
