Speed Friending - Saturday, 10/17
Ever wish making friends as an adult was easier? Speed Friending is exactly what it sounds like — a structured, playful event where you rotate through short one-on-one conversations to meet a room full of potential new pals. Hosted by Little Button Craft, this ticketed event costs $20 and runs from 4 to 6 PM. It's the perfect low-pressure way to expand your social circle.
W**e Bottle Vase Collaging - Sun, 10/18
Give old w**e bottles new life at this free creative workshop from 2 to 4pm.
We'll be transforming empty bottles into unique decorative vases using collage techniques and plenty of creativity. This is a fun, approachable craft for all skill levels and a great excuse to spend a relaxing Sunday afternoon with us. Hosted by our friends at Free Art Collective!
Chocolate Mindfulness - Saturday, 10/24
From 3 to 4 PM, join the Chocolate Mindfulness & Mocktails experience. Enjoy the rich flavors of chocolate while practicing mindfulness and sipping delicious mocktails crafted to complement your tasting journey. Come hang with Melissa Mueller-Douglas, founder of Chocolate Mindfulness, to refocus your mind and taste buds.
A Night in Velaris - Thurs, 10/27
Celebrate the return to Prythian with us at AltBar & Distant Lands on the release night of A Court of Splintered Harmony!
Join us at AltBar from 6pm to 9pm on Tuesday, October 27th for an evening full of mocktails from the fae realm, tarot readings from A Little Off Balance, themed tattoo flash from Cats Coven Tattoos (across the street), a free book swap and bookish goods from us and other vendors.
A ticket includes a welcome glass of fairy w**e (NA bubbly), charcuterie, a gift bag and access to the party.
Floral Workshop - Wed, 10/28
Create something beautiful and seasonal at our Floral Workshop beginning at 6:30pm.
You'll be guided through designing your own floral arrangement in a pumpkin vase while enjoying the cozy atmosphere of AltBar.
Halloween at AltBar!
Halloween is one of our favorite days of the year, and we're planning a full day of fun at AltBar.
We'll have festivities happening throughout the day (including drink specials), with our main event beginning at 7:30pm. Think: painting pumpkins, spooky games, drink specials, and more. Stay tuned for all the details as we finalize them!
Draw Club Every Thursday
Our friends Justyn Iannucci and Mike Turzanski, among others, have been leading a weekly draw club at AltBar at 7pm on Thursdays. Pull up a chair and come draw with a friendly group! All are welcome.
NOVEMBER SNEAK PEEK - AltWorld Book Club!
Join us on Saturday, November 7 from 3 to 5pm for book club with Emily is Overbooked! Ticket price includes one beverage of your choice and discussion around the book. This month, we'll be reading A Court of Splintered Harmony by Sarah J Maas - the newest addition in the ACOTAR world. Read the book before you come (or not!) and come ready to talk all things fantasy this month. If you haven't read any of the A Court of Thorns and Roses books yet, you might want to read those before you read this one (or just jump right in if that's your style!).
A Court of Splintered Harmony is a long-anticipated addition to the SJM universe (or, Maas-verse).
