Forty three years of my memories reduced to a rubbish pile in no time. So many emotions stirred up today.
It’s where my grandfather lived. When we would open the bottom door to his apartment, he’d open the top one and sing “here she comes, Miss America” to us as we came up. He was the best. Larger than life and you were lucky to know “Pappy. It’s where my mother worked the kitchen my entire life. I learned everything about cooking from her. A lot of it, right there in that bar.
It’s where my second mom, Debbe worked. She taught me some serious life lessons like swearing, sarcasm and driving fast, haha.
I met some of the most important people in my life, made some of the best memories AND some I’d like to forget.
People have strong opinions on this pile but it will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for the millions of memories.
As much as I’ll miss it, I’m honored that I was the one that got to lock the door for the very last time. I hope Mom and I made you proud Grandpa. ❤️ Colleen
