Pre-COVID-19: Busy tables, freshly brewed beer, laughter & food. Hard to believe this was only a short while ago-March 7, 2020! Wow, how the world has changed since then! Like a bear in its den, we continue to hibernate waiting for circumstances to change and conditions to improve...and hopefully where a brewpub like Dogtown can exist once again. 🤞🍺

After 5 years of planning and construction, one year ago this weekend we finally opened Dogtown Brewing to the world. Several thousand people came to see what Manchester had going on and what we had to offer. It was truly humbling to meet folks who traveled from near and far to show their support. We were full of optimism for the possibilities for our Brewpub, Manchester & Richmond in general. But the world was a much simpler place then than it is now. While we have no idea what the future holds, we can undoubtedly say that we’d much rather be hosting a 1 year anniversary party than being closed due to COVID-19. We hope to see you again some day when it is both safe and economically viable to hopefully open once again. But for now we just have to hunker down and pray for the best. Peace to you and here’s to hoping we meet again some day.

Hey Folks,

A quick update in response to all the inquiries about our potential re-opening for onsite food & beer consumption in our beer hall & rooftop. While we continue to sell retail cans (delivery in VA or pickup) for purchase on our website, we do not have definitive plans for reopening the brewpub for onsite consumption. With the COVID-19 situation still evolving, a confusing set of rules for how we could potentially re-open, and the unique layout of our space that allows guests to come inside and then ride the elevator up to our outside rooftop deck atop the building...it just presents too much liability for all involved right now. We are going to sit things out for now until the world hopefully becomes a more safe & inviting environment to evaluate the timing of any potential re-opening for both guest and staff alike. UPDATE: Dogtown Brewing is now selling select canned beer online for pickup at the brewery (Monday through Sunday from 10am-5pm), or home/business delivery throughout Virginia (will require adult signature for delivery).

If y'all purchase enough beer, we can hopefully start bringing brewery staff back from furlough so they can make and can more beer for you. Just click on the link below to see the beers we currently have in cans, and make your purchase online (simply select pickup or delivery at checkout). You can also call 804-724-2337 if you prefer to schedule a specific time to have your order ready for curbside pickup at the brewery.

Hello Folks,

It breaks our heart, but we are closing Dogtown Brewing indefinitely as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

With so much uncertainty about how long this public health crisis will last and the unknown effect it will have on the economy, it would be irresponsible for us to forecast a re-opening date at this time. Please stay tuned for future updates as we learn more, and hopefully the future becomes more clear.

In the meantime, our hearts go out to Manchester, our Dogtown Brewing staff and their families, and the great city of Richmond. We love you and we hope to meet again soon. ❤️

Love seeing folks enjoy not only the beer, but the food we put our heart & soul into. And with fresh seafood, more often than not, less is more. Just serve it up raw, or crack open the tin, or steam it up fresh and let it speak for itself. Sometimes you can’t, and shouldn’t even try to improve what Mother Nature has already perfected. You just have to be chill enough to say nah, it’s good just like this. And oh yeah, here is a beer we think goes well with this fresh crab, shrimp, oysters, or lobster and not screw it up with a bunch of sauce and unnecessary extras. Back to basics. .brew.review

5/5 🏅Don't think I'm going soft just because I rated 2 beers a perfect score in 2 days. This saison is everything you'd want in a farmhouse style beer! Smooth taste with a full body, malty🌾 and peppery, with no off aftertaste. Kept me coming back to sip more and could definitely kick back and enjoy more of these!

Dogtown Brewing Co. is Manchester's newest brewery and restaurant along the historic Hull Street corridor. Dogtown was named after the neighborhood in which it's located, Richmond's very own Manchester.

Dogtown Brewing Co. offers a rotating selection of 20 beers brewed on-site in small batches as well as a delicious menu of hand-held food designed to perfectly compliment craft beer.

We welcome the opportunity to host large parties and celebrations in our main restaurant or on the rooftop bar.

We've also got a stocked game room mezzanine so you can enjoy some downtime while sipping our seasonal brews.
