Our country was founded by people who sought better lives for themselves and their families. The desire for freedom and independence attracted a special type of person willing to sacrifice and work from sunrise to sunset to achieve the American dream. The Braman family came to America seeking the promise of the new world over 300 years ago. A century later they settled in the heart of Texas and al
ong with the O’Connor family continued their pursuit of independence. Together, descendents of both families achieved their parent’s dreams and each subsequent generation has stayed true to the cause of building a family legacy. The torch has been passed through the centuries and generations to Joe Braman, and like his father before him and all the preceding generations, Joe is dedicated to insuring the legacy continues for generations to come. In order to insure the growth of the family’s legacy, Joe has found it important to expand beyond a history of real estate development, cattle ranching and oil and gas production, fulfilling a lifelong dream to create his own branch on the family tree. From the time he was a young man, Joe developed an appreciation for cooking and the pleasure derived from a glass of good wine. It all started many years ago when his grandmother, Mary O’Connor Braman, first introduced him to the kitchen and immediately recognized his interest and talent. She was a fine chef and began teaching Joe the art of proper food preparation. Although his first dish of fried vegetables might not have been impressive, Mary knew Joe had found a new passion. Mary also had an appreciation for fine wine; a chardonnay lover, she shared with Joe the importance of wine selection and its inclusion in all aspects of a true chef’s art. Joe has pursued his passion for food pairings and wine through culinary school training to the finest kitchens in the world. The next natural step for Joe is the creation of a line of wine to compliment the culinary passion passed down to him from his grandmother. The introduction of Braman Wine fulfills the dream and expands the family legacy for generations to come. Joe’s grandmother would be proud.
