The Richmond Shag Club was founded in 1986 by a small group of lovers of shag, bop, and other forms of swing dance. In 1987, the club joined the Association of Carolina Shag Clubs (ACSC). Today, we meet at Visions Dance Club, located inside the DoubleTree by Hilton in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The objective of the Richmond Shag Club is simple: bring people together through our mutual love of Carolina shag. Through our shared passion, RSC works to promote and preserve the shag dance and beach music tradition in Richmond and Central Virginia while creating opportunities for people to learn, dance, make friends, and have a whole lot of fun along the way!
