Hi everyone. My name is Drew Warnement, and I’m the founder of World City Brewing, a new family friendly brewery and restaurant currently under construction on Brecksville Road in Richfield. I’m a former resident of Seven Hills and my parents still live in the city.

After nearly 20 years in the corporate world, I stepped away from my career and started over as a pizza apprentice so I could learn the restaurant business from the ground up. I recently put together this short founder story to introduce myself and share a little more about the journey that brought me here.

We recently broke ground and are working toward a summer 2027 opening. If you enjoy following the progress of new local businesses, I hope you’ll follow along as we bring World City Brewing to life.

In 1970, Richfield did something no other town in America had the guts to do. 📜⚡

Kenneth Swan signed an official ordinance declaring Richfield the first World City in the United States, forging a direct connection all the way to Germany.

For over 50 years, that wild concept sat in the history books. We’re digging it up, dusting it off, and spinning it for a new generation.

We aren’t just opening a brewery. We are building a modern crossroads. A place where old-school German brewing tradition meets the raw grit of a backyard rock show and the warmth of a wood fire.

It’s all about creating connections. Over a shared table. Over a great pie. Over a perfectly crafted pint.

For those of you who may be new to the World City Brewing page, allow me to reintroduce myself, my name is…

Okay, I’m definitely not cool enough to pull off a Jay-Z introduction. But I did want to share a little more about myself and how this idea came together.

I spent nearly 20 years building a career in the corporate world before deciding in 2023 to take a completely different path. I stepped away from that career and started working as an apprentice at Pizzeria DiLauro, where I began learning the pizza making process and the day to day realities of operating a restaurant.

That experience became an important part of the vision for World City Brewing. I’m now working to create a family friendly brewery and restaurant centered around craft beer, scratch made pizza and bringing people together.

We are building World City Brewing here in Richfield, and I want to share the entire process with you. That includes the construction, the brewing, the food development, the decisions we make and probably a few mistakes along the way.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the project and taken an interest in what we are building. We are still at the beginning, but I’m incredibly excited about what lies ahead.

It’s official. We broke ground! 🍻🍕

Today was a pretty special day for World City Brewing.

After a lot of planning, meetings, drawings and work behind the scenes, it was pretty incredible to finally stand on the property with our family, friends and project partners and officially break ground.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who came out to celebrate with us and to the team helping bring World City Brewing to life here in Richfield.

There’s still a lot of work ahead, but today made everything feel a little more real.

We’re excited to share the construction process with you over the coming months and eventually open the doors to a place where we hope people can come together over great beer, scratch-made pizza and good company.
