Weekly Word: Haudenosaunee, the name the people of the Long House give themselves. Some call them the Iroquois. Various tribes of Iroquois, mostly Seneca and Cayuga (sometimes called Mingo), had villages or were in the Cuyahoga Valley in the late 1700s. Farnam Legacy

These walls were built in 1834, by Everett Farnam. For 7 years he labored in love as he constructed a magnificent manor for his bride, Emily Oviatt.

The stunning stone work added the strength of granite in 1921. A large addition in the rear and front of the home give it the elegance we see today.

The history continues with days of glory during the Danish Smorgasbord era from 1948-1972

Farnam Manor is a place that belongs to all people - past, present and future.
