Fun fact: Long before collectible plastic swizzles, Caribbean bartenders used natural wooden swizzle sticks to mix their drinks.

Now grown adults proudly display their sticks and invite strangers to give them a little twirl.

And now, a brief historical bulletin!

Hot Buttered Rum dates back to colonial America, when rum, butter, sugar and warming spices were combined to combat winter’s icy grip.

Decades later, Don the Beachcomber brought his own tropical twist to the tradition, with a rich, spiced Hot Buttered Rum batter becoming a beloved feature of classic tiki drinking.

That’s right, folks! Before Americans were putting pumpkin spice in everything, sailors were putting butter in their booze!
