Whoah! You all showed up yesterday! An ocean of Txakolina was consumed, lamb and chorizo was devoured, and good times were had by all. Thank you to all you thirsty Basque and Basque-curious customers with a big tip of the hat to our cooking team for delicious vittles, our killer staff behind@the bar, and for leading us in a little dance.

RETURN TO TXAKOLINA
We have amassed an ocean of the finest and freshest Txakolina for you to toast and sip with us Saturday, May 16th. Sip? We shall slake. Starting at 3pm we'll begin offering flights of txakolina (white, red, and rose), draft sidra, and icy shots of patxarran. Our Basque club friends Zazpiak Bat are planning on a dance appearance and no event of this magnitude would be complete without the grilled stylings of Chef Demetras. There will be the ubiquitous Villa Basque chorizo (RIP Pete), Steve's transcendent bean salad, and while we were in the moment we went and bought a whole lamb to cook up and share with you. The spirit of txakolina has truly possessed us. Our artistic director Alex is assisting us with an arbor glyph inspired side project and we'll have a porron on hand for those that want to test their aim. Txakolina will flow all night long and we're aiming the food for 4pm. If it was my day off, I'd show up at 2:30pm for a sidra, start toasting txakolina from 3pm, and be the first in line for food at 4pm. From there I'd take a turn on the porron and then spend the rest of the afternoon joining every dance I can and lots more taxkolina toasts.

May the Fifth be with you!
If you're celebrating our favorite neighbor's today (sorry Canada, you're awesome though) consider a bottle of agave from one of Mexico's oldest distilleries. Caballito Cerrerro is produced at the Santa Rita Factory which was founded in 1873 after a fallout with family at Herradura. Located in a hidden ravine in Amatitan, Jalisco this distilado is made from 100% agave azul and local spring water and nothing else. We have other expressions but this still-strength unicorn bottling knocks me out every time I walk by my glass. A huge nose of baked agave leads (think sweet potato pie with some white pepper) and a palate of rich fruit and mineral spice sends things to the next level. I could say this is my favorite tequila but that's like saying the guy that invented baseball is your favorite player.

Stop! Don't make dinner plans for Friday. INSTEAD, come on down to your friendly neighborhood bottle shop and grab a hot Cubano from . From 4pm this Friday the 8th she'll be grilling up her take on this Caribbean classic sandwich and we'll be tempting you with adventurously paired libations. What are you waiting for? Friday, from the moment you see this post you'll be waiting for Friday and that first bite of hot pork sandwich.

Zwanze is upon you! There are still some tickets left for Saturday’s lambic-fest and you should know that we have cracked the deepest cellars to find worthy souvenirs for your trophy wall. Zwanze ticket holders will get first crack at a bevy of vintage Cantillon bottlings including Gueuze, Iris, and the exceedingly rare Citizen du Monde (made for the Shelton Brothers twentieth anniversary in 2016), as well as current releases of Foufoune, Ashanti, and Sang Bleu. You don’t really need this carrot because we’re pouring on draft six(!) Cantillon lambics including a nigh unprecedented TWO Zwanze Day beers (Ok, there were two post-Covid but that could never happen again, right?). A delicious lunch and souvenir glass await you. Saturday, 4/25 from 11am to 5pm.
