Someone brought up a very valid point of concern to me, that I greatly appreciated and wanted to expand on and clarify. With my recent posts about expanding our TCG footprint into regularly hosted MtG Commander events, they were worried that our space for boardgaming would diminish and become like a lot of other gaming shops across the country: full calendars of events, with table space always restricted to tournaments and card players.
I assure everyone, that is definitely not going to happen. While we have balanced the scales more in the past two years, hosting more tournaments and big events for games of SWU, Magic, and Cribbage, there will always be room for boardgaming and tabletop roleplaying.
With our move to become a WPN store, which essentially just gives us promos and hopefully more product allocations for Magic players, we will be hosting weekly commander events on Tuesday nights (the slowest day of the week for us) and Friday afternoons.
In a more perfect world, we would have had the means to expand our space realistically before we reached this point, but that’s not the world we live in. Table reservations might be more important than ever before here, but there will always be opportunities for people to drop in and discover something new.
