Good afternoon-
So here we go again..!!
We just completed an interview with THIS IS RENO and it’s left me with the hard to shake feeling that they are currently constructing what appears to be, at least from the questions asked, a hit piece against Club Underground, soon to be released.
There are some wild and false accusations in the questioning (as there generally are whenever someone else tries to tell my story as though it’s their story to tell). I gave full and honest answers, anyway. The truths of my story are never quite enough to get the clicks up, so they added a WHOLE cup of salaciousness into the recipe with these questions!
The goal seems to be to make us defend ourselves from accusations that make the venue look bad, and that is pretty evident in this overly biased interview. Very on brand for them, considering they’ll hire deceitful people like the archambalts to work for them. 🤷♂️
Going to refrain from talking about the interview itself for now in case I’m wrong, but I feel lured in under the pretense of a story about the revival of Club Underground, only to find myself answering questions about my past history as a promoter….again…
I’m sure some of you are sick of hearing about it by now.
The focus of the interview was on events which transpired upwards of 15 years ago. I don’t know ANYONE who is the same person they were 15 years ago, and in my case, I have spent the last 15 years being open and honest with everyone I meet about who I was and where I’ve come from. THIS IS RENO seems to have a mission to discredit my conversion to Jesus Christ, question my commitment to family, and ignore the 15 years of subsequent personal growth that has followed.
My previous business and myself personally, have been THOROUGHLY investigated by multiple agencies of law enforcement, including local PD, Dept of Parole and Probation and the state Attorney General. Since those days, I have been through court proceedings, sentencing, probation and have now come out on the other side as having completed my debt to society from a court perspective. I make payments still, with no order from courts to do so and I will do until I have satisfied every last dollar. Now you see why I preach goodness at your kids trying to play music.
Now, despite all that, here comes THIS IS RENO, seeking to reopen all these old wounds and force a lot people to have to relive such a painful time all over again. Nevermind there’s a whole redemption arc occurring right before their eyes. The questions offered absolute ZERO focus on efforts of personal growth and community advocacy over the last 15 years, of which there is a LOT to draw from. They completely ignored all positive elements of Brando and interviewed only on distant past negatives. That’s what people do when they want to dehumanize.
Promoting Club Underground has been an interesting experience. It is far more often that I have to defend my ‘second chance life’ and explain to people I shouldn’t have to why I have the audacity to keep living and breathing. Gotta do that while interweaving show promotions into it all. Double crazy that it’s working!
So, while the rest of the planet seems to be reconciling my very existence, I’m just waiting for everyone to catch up to the program at hand. Please take advantage of the fact that I really want to live my life in support of others now, after living a life of taking too much for myself in the past.
Let’s talk again after THIS IS RENO does whatever shenanigans they’re about to do! I’m sure we’ll have to.
