Early this morning, McCarty's Bar experienced a break-in.
While it's disappointing to see someone choose to take from others, we're choosing to focus on the overwhelming support, kindness, and goodness that our community shows every day.
When someone steals from a small business, the greatest impact isn't the money or the property damage. Doors can be repaired. Safes can be replaced. Financially, we will recover.
What hurts most is the doubt that follows. In a small community, you find yourself wondering who could have done it. You question people, situations, and even your own decisions. You start asking yourself whether it's worth continuing to host the events and gatherings that bring people together.
After some reflection, we've decided that one person's poor choice will not change who we are.
We choose to continue trusting our community. We choose to appreciate the many people who support our business. And yes—we will continue to host events, gather with friends, and enjoy a good party from time to time (albeit with a more robust security system and a much more reinforced safe 😊).
One bad act will never outweigh the many good people who continue to lift each other up. Thank you for being part of that good.
If anyone has information regarding the break-in at McCarty's Bar at approximately 4:50 a.m. on June 20, we would greatly appreciate hearing from you. Any information, no matter how small, may be helpful.
Thank you for your continued support.
