In 2017 husband and wife duo, Deven and Avara Roberts, decided to follow their passion for brewing and bring it to life via a small batch brewpub in their community. What better place to share their craft than with their family, friends, and locals of Bend. Brewing started out as a hobby for Deven almost 10 years ago, with his first home brew batches being made in their garage on an old turkey fry
er. Over the years, his hobby, fueled by great passion, grew into an idea of opening their own family-friendly brewpub here in Bend. After having their two kids, Violet (5) and Porter (3, also the brewery's namesake), it was important to the Roberts' to create an environment that was relaxed, fun, and comfortable for families, alongside having really great beer. Using fresh, local ingredients and sustainable business practices, Porter Brewing Co. works with fellow members of the community, including local hop growers, ranchers and farmers, to partner with and give back to their neighbors throughout the entire brewing process. In addition to working with the local community, Porter Brewing Co. also plans on giving back through charitable donations (both in Central Oregon, and abroad). Their "Growlers Give Back" program will be donating a portion of proceeds from growler fills to one of six rotating charities they partner with. to life here in Bend, by contributing to their Kickstarter campaign, which raises funds for their brick and mortar brewpub.
