Hi Bookish Social Club friends!
It’s time for our June book pick and I am SO excited to dive into this one with you…
Our June read is The Calamity Club by Kathryn Stockett (yes — the same author as The Help!).
This one is giving Southern charm, grit, friendship, resilience, humor, and unforgettable characters — all wrapped into what feels like a big, immersive story you can really sink into. Set in 1930s Mississippi, it follows a group of women whose lives unexpectedly intertwine in the middle of hardship, secrets, and a little bit of chaos (our favorite kind 😉). I have a feeling this one is going to give us a lot to talk about.
And if you’re an audiobook person… trust me on this one: the audiobook is SO good. The narration completely pulls you into the story and makes the characters come alive. Perfect for summer drives, walks, cleaning the house, pretending you’re productive… you know the drill 😅
You know we love a vibe around here… so naturally, this month’s book comes with a playlist 🎧✨ I pulled together songs that feel like The Calamity Club — moody, soulful, Southern, a little emotional, and perfect for getting lost in the story.
