THE STAKEOUT...
The Stakeout Dining Club Inc., is a registered 501 (c) (3) Corporation in the State of New Mexico. This Charitable Organization is designed to raise money for the Arts and Humanities, and the cultural development of this community. Earmarked for the fund raising at this time the Arts and Humanities Council, the School for the Performing Arts, and the Raton Main Street Organization
. The Stakeout is a platform to encourage people and businesses to meet, display their art, play their music, tell their jokes, or simply hangout by the fire and discuss their plans for the future. Raton is fortunate to have such a rich and multifaceted historical base. Mexican, American, Indian, Railroaders, Cowboys, Santa Fe Trailers, and don't forget the NRA and Boy Scouts of America are all here now, and have been for a long time. We can, and should draw on all of them to shout out our unique and distinguished heritage and place in history. The Stakeout raises money through Special (Charitable) Events. "It has become increasingly recognized across the country that a dynamic cultural atmosphere is of great economic value to a community providing an attraction for visitors as well as prospective businesses and residents." So remember, the next time you care to promote some facet of this community, or your business, or yourself, have your special event here, and the proceeds of that event (minus direct costs) will be donated to strengthen and build this community.
