🎃 THE GREAT PUMPKIN BAKE-OFF RECAP! 🎃

Things got a little nutty at the Dante Club today! 😂

Every entry had a task, a category, and a chance to claim pumpkin greatness!

🏆 Randy’s infamous pumpkin rolls definitely took the prize for BEST LOOKING! We’ll just leave the whole “no nuts” discussion out of it. 🤫

🤫 Secret ingredients were revealed! Mexican vanilla, black pepper, and apparently… BAKING NAKED! 😳 Some secrets should probably stay in the kitchen!

🥧 Rachel’s pumpkin pie was officially BETTER THAN YOUR MOM’S and took the overall vote for Best Use of Pumpkin

And the best part? THERE ARE LEFTOVERS!

Stop by the Dante tomorrow, sample the competition, and be your own judge! Because everyone has an opinion when it comes to pumpkin… and we want yours!

It's going to be one heck of an Italian weekend at the Dante Club!

🎃 SATURDAY – THE GREAT PUMPKIN BAKE-OFF!

Come see who's got the best pumpkin creation in town! A little friendly competition, a lot of delicious treats, and plenty of fall fun!

🇮🇹🏈 SUNDAY – AN ITALIAN STEELERS SUNDAY!

This Sunday is extra special because it falls on the celebration of the Cioppa family's patron saint, St. Simeon of Italy!

The day kicks off with a traditional Italian procession starting at St. Anselm's, traveling down Monongahela Avenue, with the first stop at the Cioppa family's home on Harriet Street!

The Dante Club will open during the parade, and we're serving up an Italian feast worthy of the occasion!

Looking for a recipe for this Saturday’s Pumpkin Bake-Off? 🎃

Here’s one of my favorites. My friend Melanie McDonald Spokane made it many, many decades ago — pretty sure it was before the internet, so you know it’s legit. 😂

It’s called “That Pumpkin Stuff Dorothy Makes” from The Sweet Potato Queens’ Big-Ass Cookbook.

I don’t know Dorothy… but Dorothy clearly knew what she was doing. 🙌🎃

If you’re still deciding what to make for Saturday, give this one a try — or dig out one of those old family recipes and bring it to the Dante!

Back in the early ’80s, Libby’s published The Great Pumpkin Cookbook — and you know we LOVE the ’80s. 🧡📼

That era helped turn the Pumpkin Roll into a fall legend, and since then everybody seems to have their own recipe, secret ingredient, special filling, and very strong opinion on who makes it best.

Well… this Saturday, October 10th, we’re putting those recipes to the test.
