Round 1 of the Asher Tour is in the books. Amateur Griffin Rhoads from The Huntington Club in Huntington Beach leads a field of 60 professionals and amateurs with an impressive -6, 65 in gusty wind conditions. David Longmire from Dove Canyon Country Club sits 1 shot back at -5. Other notables under the projected cut include 2004 Ryder Cup and former PGA Tour player Chris Riley at -2. SDSU golf alum Skyler Ngo also is at -2. SDSU senior Jackson Moss at E par. Thomas Lehman, son of the 1996 Open Champion, shot E par as well. Steele Canyon members Matthew Moss and Evan Caldwell sit at +1. A cut to the top 21 and ties will take place after the 2nd round tomorrow. The final round is to be completed Friday morning.
