In the spirit of Halloween, a few things that genuinely horrify us at Velvet + Vine.

The w**e glass. A stem and rim thick enough to qualify as construction materials. We appreciate durability, but there are limits.

Critter w**e. If there’s an animal on the label…aka a critter, we have questions. Several, actually.

The overzealous pour. A w**e glass filled to the brim. How exactly are we supposed to swirl? The only glass that should be that full is a martini glass.

Are we particular? Perhaps. But some things are simply too frightening to ignore.

Next week we’re heading into a big w**e trade show, and as we get closer to opening, things are getting real—including building the Velvet + Vine w**e list.

The glass can actually change how the EXACT same w**e tastes. Bowl size and shape affect how you experience the aroma, fruit, acidity + tannin.

Turns out, the glass matters. 😉 Change yours up and try it! If we see you at Home Goods today picking up new glasses, we’ll know what’s up!

How it started… here we are before the construction, the pretty finishes and all the things we’ve been planning behind the scenes.

Now the plans are stamped, things are moving, and this dark and sad empty little space is getting closer to becoming Velvet + Vine!

Still a lot to do, but we’re getting there. And we cannot wait to have a glass of w**e with you on the other side of it. 🥂

We’re creating the kind of place we always wished we had: a neighborhood w**e lounge that’s welcoming, thoughtfully designed, and centered around great w**e, delicious small plates, and the best company.

Thank you to everyone who’s followed along, shared our excitement, and encouraged us every step of the way. Your support means more than you know, and we can’t wait to welcome you through our doors this fall!

The Triangle Business Journal shared the first look at Velvet + Vine and what we’re creating in Falls River Town Center—a neighborhood w**e lounge built around great w**e, craveable bites and a space that just feels good. Catch the whole article on Triangle Business Journal.

We’re still building, dreaming and bringing every detail to life, but seeing our name in print makes it all feel a little more real.
