We are elated to share that the fabulous business that will be carrying on in our place will have their grand opening April 6, 2024!

The owners have been in contact with us since before we closed our doors to ensure that they provide to the community what we all believe to much needed home away from home.

Locked the doors for the final time today. The place was empty, clean, and quiet. As Kim and I stood there, all we could see was over half a decade of wonderful memories, people, and joy!

Rockfish creek winery provided a place to sip, laugh, and enjoy the company of those around us. From the ribbon cutting to closing every memory was special.

I looked at the wine racks and saw all the times I nail gunned my fingers with Jason Jess N Jason Clewis. I looked at the little weird tile cut that John Dannunzio made to help finish the floor. I saw countless live music nights, trivia nights, wine/ice cream pairing, thousands of tastings, hunderends of wine making classes, wine blending events, paint your own pallet, Christmas with the grinch, spring festivals, dirt bag ales farmers markets, and countless more events…

We have had too many amazing people step into our lives as employees and family. Too many creek club members that will be with us for the rest of our lives. So many late night laughs!

Our mission was to put sunshine in a bottle to warm your heart and make you smile! A motto we adopted from our mentors Duncan MacRae, Lorraine Lorraine Pixel MacRae, and John Rorer… Kim and I started with them at OBX Winery on April 23, 2017! They forever changed our lives for the better.

For everyone that ever heard us speak at an event, we always said that our mission was Family, Community, and legacy!

Thank you to everyone that was part of this dream come true! I’m so thankful and forever grateful!

To our RFC Winery Family and Friends,

It is with our absolute dismay and ultimate sadness that we must inform you that we are closing the doors to our brick and mortar location permanently on Friday, February 2nd.

As a small business, we survived the COVID Pandemic and subsequent supply chain challenges due to the love and support of the most incredible customers and staff a business could hope for. Today’s economic strain impacts all of you and subsequently it is impacting us. Because the cost of goods continues to increase exponentially, our price point for wine exceeds the average customer’s ability to purchase. Understandingly, this economy has impacted everyone and businesses of all industries.

Thank you for over five years of business. We’ve surpassed the expectations of two humans intending to share our love for wine with the community. We have seen weddings, proposals, baby’s first trips out, love songs being sung, puppies, and more. We’ve welcomed so many of you daily on your way home and we’ve celebrated with Creek Club Member Appreciation together. The community of incredible humans that gather within our four walls are the reason we’ve tried so hard to adjust to economic changes over the last two years, but most especially the last six months.

Our dream was to create our very own version of Cheers. Just like the day Sam closed the doors, we too say “Sorry, we’re closed.” It will be with a heavy heart and the fondest of memories. Thank you, family and friends. We hope we see you in town!

Now for business talk:
Customers who have paid for wine making will be able to make their wine at our production facility. Those who have already started wine for their class will complete their class per their schedule. There are approximately ten wine kits remaining to make and we welcome the sale of those (to be listed in the comments of this post later) to be made at our production facility.

All merchandise except jackets and faux Stanley cups will be 50-75% off. Jackets and faux Stanley cups are 25% off.

Wine, beer and ci**rs are first come, first serve for what’s left. There’s a batch of Night cap and a batch of greentail in production that will be brought in for sale.

We hope to be present at events and markets around the town and state in the near future. Right now, we need to drill down and take care of some things, then we will see where this journey takes us!
