To all our loyal customers, family & friends,

On behalf of the entire Sala family/owners (John, Sue, Emily, Matt & Lauren), we announce the closing of Sala at our current location on June 4th, with lots of great opportunities on the horizon! Private functions will run through end of June.

We want to first start off by thanking all our amazing customers who have supported us in every way over the past 5 years. It surely hasn’t been an easy journey as we fought through many obstacles including the pandemic, strict guidelines, major city construction right outside our doors and medical crisis’ within our owners (just to name a few). Despite these challenges, we are so proud of what we’ve accomplished and the successful business we have created in just 5 years!

Each of us went into this journey juggling two full time jobs. What we quickly learned is that this unique concept would be much more than just a “side gig”. The overwhelming growth and love we’ve experienced is nothing like we EVER expected and quite honestly took us all by surprise.

There are many factors that played a role in the difficult decision to pause and rethink our business plan. However, the biggest factor being, the space. Our lease has come to an end and resigning would not allow us to profitability expand how we envision. Although, we love our cozy & homey little setup, the current footprint is no longer suitable for our continued growth. Simply put, we have outgrown the space which we definitely appreciate is a great problem to have!

The good news is we hope this isn’t the end for Sala - our wheels are already turning! We have lots of exciting potential ideas and opportunities including (but not limited to), possibly utilizing the very large space attached to our bakery, which we do own. Any of our options will hopefully lead us to a plan that is bigger, better and more suitable for our growth than before!

Whatever the future holds, it will take us some time to rethink, rework and renovate. We ask you to please be patient with us & follow along as we come up with the best possible solution for our customers and staff. In the meantime, we hope to incorporate some of the unique Sala concepts into Fratellis (more to come on that).

As we close out, we really want to emphasize just how much we’ve enjoyed every moment at Sala over the past 5 years. We have been fortunate enough to meet so many amazing customers and staff members who we now have the privilege of calling our friends. Finally & most importantly, we are so thankful to have been able to share our unique concept with the great city of Quincy!

This is not goodbye, this is see you later!

The joys of Italian living meet modern American style at Sala by Fratelli’s, a family-run dessert bar and lounge in the heart of Quincy, Massachusetts.

Sala—which means “lounge” in Italian—was inspired by the dessert bars found on every corner of Torino, Italy, the hometown of Fratelli’s Pastry Shop founder Giovanni Milone. At Sala, Giovanni has partnered with his wife, daughters and son-in-law to reimagine the gathering spots of his youth, tapping into more than 35 years in the bakery business to create a dessert-focused destination like no other.

And like no other it is! Sala caters to an untapped crowd looking for a laid-back yet sophisticated setting to end their night. In developing the menu, the Milone’s took the classic Italian desserts that made Fratelli’s a local legend to the next level, and added new extravagant and elaborate cakes and pastries. Rounding out the offerings are signature cocktails that pair perfectly with the desserts, decadent dessert martinis, Italian cordials, and indulgent coffee drinks.

The lounge is also available for special events, providing hosts with authentic Italian food, desserts and décor for completely turnkey, stress-free entertaining.
